Who is CustomWare?

CustomWare was founded in 1990 by Meindert Sprang, in a drive to gain more freedom and diversity in the design of embedded systems. Through the years, we specialized in the marine market and in 2002 CustomWare introduced a line of NMEA multiplexers and their brandname ShipModul. CustomWare was the first to introduce an NMEA multiplexer with a hassle-free USB interface and a few years later, another innovative multiplexer with a Bluetooth interface was developed.

Cooperation
CustomWare cooperates closely with other design- and production companies involved in hardware, software and mechanical engineering.

Mission
Our philosophy is to stay involved in the entire development process. This means that mostly a project is done by one person, who is responsible for the design and implementation of both hardware and software. This approach results in a significantly faster design cycle, as there is less of a need to coordinate between different specialists in order to realise a particular development.

What does CustomWare do?

CustomWare offers design and development of software, electronic circuits and embedded systems, for one-time projects as well as volume production. We develop custom applications from either a full requirement specification or just a rough scetch, and turn them into working prototypes. We take care of the entire design process:

CustomWare has long-term relations with a limited number of preferred component suppliers and contract assembly houses. Depending on the needs of a project, we subcontract most of our electronics board- and mechanical assembly.
